4th Place Finish at Thunder on Cocoa Beach
May 23, 2023Round 2 of the APBA Offshore National Championship Series brought us to sunny Cocoa Beach, FL for the Thunder on Cocoa Beach. The fans are always great and come out in groves to see the boats especially at the block party Friday night.
Traditionally Cocoa Beach is known as a rough water race, but this year conditions were very favorable and the weather was great. With 8 boats competing in the Modified Vee class, it was going to be a very competitive weekend for sure. Once the green flag threw, the team settled into 3rd place and due to an incident on the course, the race was red flagged which would force a re start. Once the race was re started, the team fell back to 4th which is where they finished the race.
Not exactly the results the team for looking for, but they just needed a little different setup to help the boat handle around the course.
