Scott Free Racing Places 3rd in Key West World Championship
December 9, 2014Scott Free Racing had high hope for the last race of the 2014 season in Key West, FL for the World Championships. "With three days of racing, anything can happen," said driver Stephen Kildahl. Wednesday's race provided the racers with moderate sea conditions and SFR managed a 2nd place finish. Friday's race was very calm for the team and SFR managed another 2nd place finish and a win was evident on Sunday for a shot at the World Championship.
Sunday was the final day and conditions were very rough. This gave a lot of confidence to the SFR team as the boat was very fast in the rough conditions. It was deck to deck racing for the lead until the engine started to over heat and forced the team to drop out of the race. With a last place finish on the final day dropped SFR to 3rd overall for the week. Overall it was a great event for the team and SFR is already working hard to get ready for 2015!
