Scott Free Racing Takes Hometown Win in Sarasota, FL!!
July 9, 2022Wheeee! The 37th Annual Sarasota Grand Prix is not only a tradition on 4th of July weekend, but a hometown race for the team and one of the biggest races on the circuit. Friday night started with a block party downtown to kick off the event and allow fans to see the boats and meet the teams.
On race day the team started on pole position which gave them a great advantage for the start of the race and when the green flag dropped they took the lead and never looked back leading all 8 laps. Conditions were fast and tricky creating a lot of excitement for the fans along the beach.
"It's always great to win on race day especially when it's in front of your hometown crowd," said Driver Stephen Kildahl. "Sarasota is one of the biggest races on the circuit and it's nice to see your hard work pay off".
This victory puts the team in 1st place in the National Points Standings as we head into Round 4 in a couple weeks in St. Clair, MI.
