Overcoming Adversity: Scott Free Racing Battles Rough Seas in Ocean City
June 11, 2024Scott Free Racing faced formidable challenges in the Ocean City Grand Prix, held in Ocean City, MD, for Round 4 of the APBA Offshore Championship Series. With rough conditions dominating race day, the team showed resilience and skill as they battled for a podium finish.
Throughout the race, Scott Free Racing maintained a strong position, holding onto 3rd place amid the relentless waves and fierce competition. The team’s strategic maneuvering and perseverance were evident as they navigated the turbulent waters, demonstrating their commitment to securing valuable championship points.
However, adversity struck when a trim hose blew, abruptly ending their race. Despite this setback, the team's determination and readiness to tackle challenges were unwavering. The crew immediately began working on repairs to ensure the boat would be in top shape for the upcoming Round 5.
Reflecting on the race, the team remains optimistic and focused on the future. "We gave it our all in some of the toughest conditions we've faced this season," said Stephen Kildahl. "It's disappointing to have a mechanical issue force us out, but we'll come back stronger for the next round."
Scott Free Racing will now turn their attention to preparations for Round 5 in Sheboygan, WI, scheduled to take place in a couple of months. With a steadfast resolve and a never-give-up attitude, the team is ready to continue their pursuit of the championship title.
